St. Alphonsus Parish School has a long history of performing spectacular shows. This year, the 2018 spring musical will be Mary Poppins, Jr. Our Drama Department is open to all middle school students (5th through 8th grade).

Wednesday, January 24 from 2:30-4:30 pm or Thursday, January 25 from 3:15-5:15 pm
First Auditions – everyone auditioning for the play will need to attend one of the initial audition dates. For students who are interested in Ensemble and most Supporting roles, this will be the only audition you need to attend.
If you are unavailable for either date, please complete the sign up form and we’ll reach out to you individually about auditions.
Friday, January 26 from 3:15-5:15 pm
For students who are interested in large Supporting or Lead roles, we would like you to come back for a second day of auditions on Friday, January 26. During the first auditions, we will talk with you about what role(s) you are interested in and if you should plan to attend Second Auditions. All actors interested in major roles may attend.
Monday, January 29
Wednesday, January 31 from 2:30-4:30 pm
Scrip run through – all cast rehearsal
We have a wide variety of roles in the play, and the time commitment for the students playing those roles varies accordingly (from 1-5 days/week). The larger the role, the more time needed at rehearsal. We work to cast students in roles that are fulfilling, appropriately challenging, and fit with their other schedule commitments. Regular rehearsals take place after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3:15 to 5:30 pm, and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30 pm. A schedule will be released in early February.

Become a Patron of the Arts
We are fortunate to have such an extraordinary drama program at St. Alphonsus. A very small fee is charged to the many students who participate in our productions – offering students a fantastic experience. But it costs a lot of money to put on these productions, including a royalty fee to use the scrips, director, costumes, settings, props, tickets, programs, etc. Any contribution is truly appreciated. Thank you for being a St. Al’s Patron of the Arts!
Donations can be made at the school office or in the Sunday collection basket at church. Please make checks payable to “St. Alphonsus” and be sure to note “Patron of the Arts”. Thank you!
School parents can earn parent hours, high school students can earn service hours, and anyone can enjoy the thrill of participating in a full theatrical production! There are so many ways we can use your talents — costume production, hair and make-up, baked goods to name some.
