Choir<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adult Choir<\/em>: The adult choir sings for the Sunday 9 AM mass and select holy days from September through June. This choir is open to all, no choral experience required. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 and Sunday mornings at 8:15. Please contact Andrew Koch<\/a> for more information and to join.<\/p>\n

Community Choir<\/em>: Our community choir is a pick-up style choir open to all ages and skill levels that convenes for holy days like Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals are held for one hour a week for 4-6 weeks prior to the holy day. This is a great way to try singing in a choir with a less demanding time commitment. If you are interested, please contact Andrew Koch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cantor<\/strong><\/p>\n

We can always use more cantors to help lead our parish in singing for weekend masses, holy days, weddings, and funerals. To audition to be a cantor, please contact Andrew Koch<\/a>. Prior singing experience (in choir or solo) and the ability to read music are highly preferred.<\/p>\n

The Organ
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our glorious organ was designed and built in the Fritts-Richards Organ Builders workshop located in Tacoma, Washington. The case and general tonal arrangement are crafted to match early Dutch and German organs, the historical peak in the instrument\u2019s development. The case is directly inspired by the 16th century organ of Hendrick Niehoff at Brouwershaven, The Netherlands.<\/p>\n

As the St. Alphonsus organ design phase progressed, the specification was enlarged by several stops to enable both the Hauptwerk and R\u00fcckpositiv cases to be enlarged to include the larger front pipes, the Praestant 16\u2019 in the Hauptwerk and the Praestant 8\u2019 in the R\u00fcckpositiv. The pipes are designed for the fine acoustics of the church and are voiced robustly to support congregational singing.<\/p>\n

And the decision was made to contrast the elegant European casework and elaborate carvings with the American mid-century church architecture; in harmony, from the luminous colors derived from the fine stained glass windows, spatial, auditory and aesthetic balance is achieved.<\/p>\n
