MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Hello St. Al Family and Friends,

This week, we began the season of Lent.  This is a time to reflect and focus.  It is a time of sacrifice and giving.  Lent is a time when we focus on our purpose when we think about what we are preparing ourselves for and how we can best accomplish the goals God has set before us.  As Fr. Richard said during Ash Wednesday mass, this is our time to practice and prepare for game time.
During Lent, we often consider what we can sacrifice in our preparation.  Remember, getting ready isn’t only about what we give up along the way.  It is also about what we do.  Lent is a time to donate time, talent, and treasure for the benefit of others.  Share some kindness by committing to walk the neighbor’s dog or mow their lawn. Volunteer for your favorite charity or commit to spending more time helping around the house.  We are all in training, letting go of the things that can slow us down and working on habits that help us succeed.

Regardless of your personal choices this Lenten season, remember to sacrifice and serve as we prepare for Jesus.

Thank you,

Kathleen Daspit
