KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ANNUAL CRAB FEED

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS ANNUAL CRAB FEED

Happening: Saturday, March 23, 2019

The Knights of Columbus (Council 12889) is a fraternal organization that works closely with St. Alphonsus Parish providing funds and volunteering for various parish projects. They routinely donate funds for the school drama program and the school auction.  There are quite a few school fathers that are members of this great group!

Their fundraiser, the Crab Feed is being held Saturday, March 23, 2019.  Would you like to donate a dessert for their Dessert Dash?  We will need at least 25 desserts, it’s a quick way to volunteer!  Please contact Kristine Bulson with your dessert! kris.bulson@gmail.com

Another way to support our community is to attend!  Tickets for the event are now on sale after weekend Mass.  If you’re a school family, please contact Maureen Endres for tickets.  maureen@chris-endres.com

Location: St. Alphonsus Family Center
Date: Saturday, March 23, 2019
Time: 6:30pm – doors open at 6:00pm.
Tickets: $45 donation

Beauty & the Beast, Jr.

Beauty & the Beast, Jr.

We’re looking for antlers! As part of our set design we’re looking for antlers. You know, the kind you find at a hunting lodge or cabin-in-the-woods. Nothing overly large, in fact smaller is better.

If you have something we can borrow, please contact Tricia Bentley at triciabentley@gmail.com.

Costume Work Party

Do you love Theater?  Can you sew? Are you a bargain thrift store hunter?

Costume Work Party
Saturday, March 2
2-4 pm
School Auditorium

We’re looking for volunteers to help us with this year’s production of Beauty and the Beast, Jr. You do not need to have a child cast in the show to volunteer. This Saturday we are having a Costume Work Party where we will begin by sorting through the many bins of costumes we already possess and outlining what needs to be re-purposed, adapted, created, purchased or procured. We’re looking to assemble a team to hit thrift stores, hem here or there, and help organize. We promise a fun time, clear communication, and tasks based on volunteer time available. Please reach out to Victoria Long and let her know you want to be part of this year’s Costume Crew: victoria.long63@gmail.com.

If there are other ways you would like to help with the middle school musical, please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Tricia Bentley at triciabentley@gmail.com.

Volunteer Interests & Skills Survey

At Saint Alphonsus we are a community of students, parents, teachers, staff, and parishioners working together for our shared success. There are countless ways you can volunteer and we would like to help you find the right opportunities!

Please complete this short Volunteer Interests & Skills survey, which will be used to create a database of expertise and talent accessible to organizers as volunteer opportunities become available.

St. John Parish & School Women’s Overnight Shelter

St. John Parish & School Women’s Overnight Shelter

Do you need volunteer hours for St. Al’s? Or, do you have a middle schooler or high schooler seeking volunteer hours or community service experience? Our sister school St. John, is looking volunteers to help at their women’s shelter.

Every Saturday and Sunday night throughout the school year, 12-15 women come and stay at St. John’s Egan Hall. Training is provided and they are in need of:

  • Women/Female Teens who can stay the night. (Teens must be accompanied by their mom)
  • Shuttle Bus Drivers (male or female) willing to be trained and drive the bus for pick/drop off
  • Snack/meals supplied on Saturday night.
If you are interested in learning more about how to help and be involved with this outreach or be added to the signup, please contact Mary Kearney and Kristin Kent.

Teacher Luncheon (3)

January Teacher Luncheon

Help show our wonderful faculty and staff how much we appreciate all the time and hard work that they put into giving our children the very best educational experience possible. For the last Thursday of each month, I am organizing volunteers to provide lunch for them in the Teacher’s Lounge.

Use the Sign Up Genius below to volunteer. We need about 4 volunteers to bring mains, sides, salads, desserts, etc. Our next Teacher Luncheon is Thursday, January 31. Feel free to sign up for any month that works for you. It’s a great way to show our appreciation and earn your volunteer hours. (Every $20 spent on food = 1 volunteer hour.)

Contact Katy Coleman with any questions. Thank you!
