Yoga with Maggie (morning)

Dates: February  7th –  March 20th (no class Feb 14th)

Description: Join our certified yoga teacher and learn to focus on having fun with yoga, finding ease and playfulness in our bodies, and learning mindfulness and breathing skills to cope with everyday stress.

 

Chess Wizards

Dates: January 13 – March 23

Description: Chess Wizards offers fun, intellectual and challenging chess education and tournament experiences to children of all abilities and ages. We believe learning should be fun! Kids play chess because it is fun, not because it ‘is good for their cognitive, social, and emotional development.’ Our students learn chess is fun on Day 1! In addition to lessons and traditional gameplay, we incorporate variations of chess games that build teamwork and foster a genuine enjoyment of a game over a thousand years old!

 

Cooking Around the World (Themed)

Dates: January 24 – March 27

(No class 2/14 & 3/13)

Description: Cucina Cooking Club is an after school cooking club for kids in grades 4th-6th grade. Participants will take home dishes that will serve 4-6 people after every class. We’ll work independently and in groups to create dishes perfect for your dinner table. This curriculum empowers young people to nourish themselves and their communities through mindful cooking, healthy eating habits, and an appreciation for food.

Description: Your child will have a blast in this exciting new STEAM program. Our innovative approach to coding is sure to spark your child’s interest in computer science. The fun-filled curriculum stresses critical thinking, creativity, confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to prepare them for the 21st century and beyond. Class topics include video game design, loops, control structure, conditional expressions, control statements, object-oriented design concepts, data structures and variables, and mathematical expressions. Each student will receive an award on the last day of the session and will have the opportunity to earn belts to demonstrate their learned skills!

 

Let’s Build It – ROBOTICS GEARS & GIZMOS

 Dates: January 29 – April 1

Time: Wednesdays 2:20 – 3:20 pm

Grades: Grades 1st – 6th

Description: This class takes a hands-on approach to engineering, allowing students to directly engage with basic engineering concepts through a variety of fun and educational activities. Students will improve their problem solving, math, and physics skills – all while engaging in exciting building projects. Each trimester-long unit will focus on specific areas of engineering, like robots, circuits, and exciting machines. No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and build. Each student will receive an award on the last day of the session, and have the opportunity to earn Energy Belts to demonstrate their learned skills!
