Preschool Programs for 3 to 5 Year Olds
In our preschool programs, each child grows academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually at his or her own pace.
We strive to develop a student who has a positive self-image, respects the rights of others, sees the wonders of God in the world around him or her, and is a self-learner.
The program is enhanced by weekly lessons in music, physical education, religion, and library, and daily art activities.
We accept children once they turn 3 and are potty trained.
Montessori-based Preschool Half-day Program
Our half day preschool is open to 3 to 5 year old children. The program employs the Montessori method,a child-centered educational approach that celebrates and nurtures each child’s intrinsic desire to learn.
Full-Day Preschool Program
Full-day preschool option includes our Montessori-based Half-day Preschool Program, supervised lunch, and our half-day Educational Exploratory Program.
Three-day or Five-day Per Week Options
Choose a three-day (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) or five-day per week schedule. The Preschool program operates on the same calendar as St. Alphonsus Parish School.
Mornings: 8:30-11:30 am
Optional: Supervised Lunch (11:30-12:30)
Afternoons: 12:30-3:00 pm (2:15 pm dismissal on Wednesdays)
Optional: Supervised Lunch (11:30-12:30) and/or Extended Care (dismissal – 6pm)
Full-Day: 8:30-3:05 pm (2:15 dismissal on Wednesdays)
Optional: Extended Care (dismissal – 6pm)
Staff
The program is organized under the leadership of four teachers certified in Early Childhood Education with special training in the Montessori method. The student to teacher ratio is 10:1.
