Book Fair

Come to the Book Fair!

St. Al’s Book Fair is OPEN May 16 – May 24, at the following times:

  • Before school each day: 8:15 – 8:45am
  • After school each day: 2:45 – 3:45pm and 1:45 – 2:45pm (Wednesday only)
  • Special event: Friday, May 24 from 11:30am to final purchase.
  • Orientation evenings: Tuesday, May 21 and Wednesday, May 22 from 6:30 – 8:15pm

An exciting new feature this year is the eWallet for your student. Instead of sending a check or cash with your student to purchase books, you can easily set up an eWallet for them online and we can use that for any book purchases over the course of the Fair.

Look for the eWallet information on our Scholastic Book Fair info page, link below. You may also purchase books online through 5/23 using the link.

A Note from the Librarian

April showers bring the May BOOK FAIR?!?

We’re excited to host our final Book Fair of the school year from May 20th to May 24th. We will be open for book sales before and after school each day, plus we will have evening hours on Tuesday and Wednesday that week for those of you who can’t make it during the day (these times coincide with the K-4 and Middle School orientations). Let’s help our students avoid the dreaded “summer slide” and keep their brains engaged with great books! We’ll see you at the Book Fair!

Principal’s Corner – September 27, 2018

Hello St. Al Families,

We are almost through our first month of school. Now that things are settling down a bit and routines are established, I would like to send out a few reminders. First, remember to check your email for weekly updates from me, as well as any other pertinent school information from teachers or other staff. If you have not already done so, please check the information on RenWeb to make sure phone numbers, email addresses, and authorized pick-up/emergency contact adults are current. Updating your RenWeb information will ensure that we are able to contact you with any important school information and allow us to notify you quickly should we need to reach you during the school day.

Also, it looks like cold and flu season has arrived a little early this year.  We have had a plethora of runny noses, coughs, and upset stomachs. We love each and every day we get to spend with your students, but if they are sick please keep them home. If we send a student home after being ill at school or if a student was ill during the night at home, we ask that they not return until they are fever and vomit free for at least 24 hours.  This helps to ensure a speedy recovery and reduces risk of spreading the illness to others.

Finally, I would like to say a special thank you to everyone who purchased items from our book fair. This event assists us in funding our library and provides additional reading material for our classrooms. I would like to extend a special thank you to Lori Corcoro and Melissa Rodriguez-Murphy who organized/managed the fair, and a thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to set-up and pack-up all of the fair items. Our community made this event a success and our students will benefit in a variety of ways.

Thank you for a wonderful first month. I wish you all a wonderful end of September.

Thank you,
Kathleen Cifu
