Thank you for your participation in our first St. Alphonsus Parish School Art Walk Auction.  The event will allow us all to walk through and see the students Class Art Auction pieces and all the other art pieces for auction as well as hold an online auction, with the culmination of a live virtual event on Saturday.  This is a visual celebration of our school community.  In these times of darkness, it is important to take a moment to remember and celebrate all of the good around us.  We created this art event to share that good with one another while continuing to support the amazing efforts of our school staff, students, and families this school year.

We thank you for your participation in our event and the continued support of our school staff and programs. Funds from this event will allow us to remain St. Al Strong by providing much-needed materials and staffing for classes and projects, as we continue to provide the academic rigor, support, and faith community you know and love.

God has blessed us with a community that deeply cares and with talents we can share with one another.  Join us in celebrating joy, celebrating hope, and celebrating our school. We are St. Al Strong.

Many blessings,

Auction Committee

Class Art Showcase – 7th Grade “Moth Project”

Value – Priceless

Artists – 7th Grade

Description: Moth Project – The inspiration for this year’s 7th-grade art project comes from an organization/podcast called The Moth Radio Hour.  This organization works with real people to help them tell a true story about their lives in front of an audience.  The organization started in a backyard in Georgia, with late-night storytelling.  Moths would be attracted to the porch light and so the group started calling itself “The Moth.”  The goal of this organization is to show both the diversity and commonality of the human experience.

We have all been changed in some way because of the pandemic. Students were asked to reflect on and write about the good and bad of this past year.  Their thoughts are printed on the background of the board.  Over the top are collages of different moths.  May we all be drawn to the light this year!
~
Our amazing Class Art Projects are arriving at the office as we speak, while others are in their final finishing stages.  This year’s projects are incredible and are looking to be some of the most incredible yet to date.  We have every genre and every media!  POP Art to Living Art.  More sneaks to come!
