Middle School Math Teacher
St. Alphonsus Parish School is seeking a Middle School Math and 5th/6th Boys Homeroom Teacher. Our school is located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. We seek a versatile teacher whose love of math is matched by a love of teaching and forming middle school students in the Catholic faith. The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Washington State teaching credential (or ability to obtain one) in content area 
  • Possess ability to teach a variety of middle school math levels
  • Collaborate in Professional Learning Communities and work towards consensus with team members
  • Demonstrate high level of content knowledge through lesson plan development, instruction, and student support
  • Differentiate instruction for enrichment/intervention to meet the needs of all students 
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, staff, parents, and school community about student progress and school events  
  • Be prepared and flexible throughout the school year 
  • Possess a strong sense of the connection between mathematics and other disciplines, as well as a passion for inspiring wonder and excellence in students who study mathematics 
  • Openness to feedback and continued professional, intellectual, and spiritual development
  • Desire to form virtue and mentor students, especially boys
  • Possess a commitment to the Catholic Church, its teachings, and our school mission (Catholic applicants are preferred but not necessary)

Part-Time Custodian

Hours: 20 hours/week, flexible hours 

Duties include but not limited to: 

  • Performs general, routine custodial duties such as mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms/classrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies 
  • Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal 
  • Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies 
  • Reports needs and concerns to appropriate staff 
  • Performs cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities 
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned 


  • Must pass a background check   
  • Must be compliant with the Archdiocese of Seattle Safe Environment Policies 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Must be able to work around cleaning solutions 

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for part-time work with flexible hours. This is an hourly position to be paid at $17.50/hour without benefits.
