Preschool Aide & After School Care Assistant

St. Alphonsus Parish School is seeking a Part-Time Preschool Aide and After School Care Assistant. This position is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and enriching environment for students ages 3-5. The hours for this position are 12:00pm – 6:00pm. Pay is competitive. Our welcoming Catholic school is located in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.


  • Work inside and outside the classroom with the children during class hours.
  • Maintain the instructional environment for the children.
  • Set up centers and prepare needed materials.
  • Help with the daily, weekly and monthly general housekeeping tasks.
  • Assist in the supervision of the children in the classroom, during lunch and on the playground.
  • Other duties as may reasonably be assigned.


  • Commitment to supporting Catholic Education and the Catholic Faith.  Catholic applicants are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with or teaching preschool-aged children; prior experience in children’s ministry is a plus.
  • Safe Environment training through the Archdiocese of Seattle including initial class, Archdiocesan background check and policy sign off; training available upon hire.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor.
