Breathe Easy! HEPA Air Purifier Goal Reached
Dear families and friends,
We did it and then some! Your rapid response in supporting this need to protect the health and well-being of this community was absolutely astounding. In just three days, we raised over $13,000 to get HEPA air purifiers in every classroom and the cafeteria spaces, as well as cover the cost of replacement filters for the next three years. Incredible!
As a “newcomer” to St. Al’s, I have been deeply moved at this outpouring of generosity. It has been such a demonstration of unity and love for our special school. I offer a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to all our donors in providing an added layer of protection and peace of mind to our families, staff, and students.
Although we reached our goal, the option to give to this project will remain open until October 1. Any additional funds received will go towards keeping our facilities clean, well-maintained, and more equipped to combat COVID-19 and beyond.
Thank you again for helping St. Alphonsus Parish School breathe clean and breathe easy. God is good!
With gratitude,
Nick Padrnos, Principal
Help Us Reach Our HEPA Air Purifier Goal at St. Al’s!
Dear families and friends,
Yesterday we received a $5,000 gift from an anonymous donor to provide HEPA air purifiers in every classroom. These purifiers have been tested to remove 99.9% of airborne COVID-19 & SARS-Cov-2 particles and are designed for school settings. We are so incredibly grateful for this gift!
Using that momentum, I announced at last evening’s K-4 Curriculum Night that we needed $2,000 in additional support to cover our high-capacity areas like the Cafeteria and Student Commons. Within hours, we more than doubled our goal! But don’t worry. There’s still time to get in on the action.
Please consider making an online gift to our Annual Fund to cover the cost of replacement filters and ongoing maintenance for the next 3 years. The filters on each of the 25 units cost $60 and last one year. We are hoping to raise an additional $3,000 by October 1. When making your online gift, please indicate Greatest Need (Annual Fund/HEPA Air Purifiers). This is an excellent opportunity to satisfy your family’s recommended commitment of $125 to the Annual Fund.
From the outset, our guiding principles during this pandemic school year have been to provide a safe, uninterrupted, in-person learning experience. Your generous donation further safeguards that commitment both now and for the future, which likely involves new COVID variants, not to mention the common flu, smoke from more intense fire seasons, dust and pollen, and whatever else Mother Nature hurls our way.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration of contributing to the health and wellness of St. Alphonsus Parish School. We are so blessed by this community’s generosity and commitment to our sustained educational mission. God is good!
With gratitude,
Nick Padrnos, Principal

PRINCIPAL’S CORNER: April 1, 2021
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Angels,
Happy Holy Week to our St. Alphonsus community. This is a truly special week each year as we reflect, share, and celebrate our purpose as God’s children. Teachers have been preparing students for this week through a variety of classroom activities. During morning prayer and announcement time, we had Sr. Mary Elizabeth Albers share the meaning behind Holy Week, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter, and everyone’s new favorite term –the Triduum. Tomorrow we will have our 8th-grade class share the stations of the cross virtually, in an extended morning prayer time. We conclude our week together with early release at noon on Good Friday.
