See’s Candy Sale

The 6th graders have the exciting opportunity to attend Camp Waskowitz Enviromental Camp! This week long camp is held in the spring. It is a chance for the kids to learn about environmental science in an outdoor setting.

In order to help defray the cost of environmental camp, the 6th graders will be selling See’s candy. Please support their endeavor by making a purchase. Candy also makes great Christmas gifts! Gift certificates are also available and make a great addition to a Christmas card.

Sixth graders will be selling See’s candy from Friday, October 26th to November 30th. Orders are prepaid, so have that checkbook handy! Candy will be available for delivery to customers before the kids go on Christmas break.

Policies and Procedures

Visitor badges: When visiting the school please sign in and out at the front office. Also, please pick up a visitor badge.  We want to make sure all adults in the building can be easily identified and that the office is aware we have visitors.  This assists us in evacuating the building during emergency situations and allows us to maintain a high level of safety and security for our students through out the day. If you see someone in the building who is not a staff member and is not wearing a visitor badge, please report it to the office immediately.

Doors: All doors to our buildings remain locked during the school day.  This is to make sure that no one is admitted without permission.  Please make sure to close all doors behind you when entering the building and do not admit anyone behind that is not known to you or is not clearly going to the office.

Pets on campus:

* Absolutely no dogs or pets are allowed in the school building
* No dogs or pets are allowed on the outdoor courtyard area (where we line up for morning prayer and flag salute and where we dismiss in the afternoon)
* Please also refrain from bringing dogs or pets into the “yellow cone” area that connects our school to the playground
* No dogs or pets on any part of our designated playground areas including big toys and basketball courts

AHERA:  Attached is a letter that is sent out annually by the Archdiocese of Seattle.  Federal regulations require that all schools send out this letter regarding AHERA information.

Thank you for a wonderful start to our second week and I look forward to our exciting events together in September.

Thank you,
Kathleen Cifu
Principal

May Madness

SCRIP May Madness!

Here is how Scrip May Madness works:

Retailers give St. Alphonsus a percentage for every Scrip card sold. For example, if you buy a $100 Fred Meyer card for your next shopping trip, Fred Meyer gives St. Alphonsus a certain percentage back and you spend that $100 card buying groceries. There is no extra cost for you, but you just gave 4% back to St. Alphonsus on your Scrip card purchase.

For the month of May, the rebate amount of your Scrip purchase will be added to the other families in your child’s class and the class with the highest averaged dollar amount will win an end of the year party.

Anyone can buy and use Scrip

You, your family, your friends, and even your co-workers! So please support your class and the school and stock up on all those grocery, gas, and/or gift Scrip.

Scrip cards may be purchased:

  • Online at www.shopwithscrip.com (enrollment code A28AF4B59532)
  • Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings at 8:15-8:45 am in The Commons (small cafeteria) at school
  • Wednesday mornings at 8:30 am in the Preschool classroom
  • Friday afternoon at 2:45-3:15 pm in The Commons (small cafeteria) at school
  • After all weekend Masses in the back vestibule
  • At the Parish office during the week
