Message from the Principal

Hello St. Al Families,

This week we celebrate Catholic schools.  We celebrate the special element behind the academics and the clubs.  We celebrate that unique piece of the puzzle that makes us different.  We celebrate God in our halls.

The values found in Catholic teaching are the same values found in our mission, vision, and SLEs.  It is inspiring to work with our staff and our students as we nurture the whole child, students of integrity, faith-filled and curious, respecting others and themselves.

Our school has a rich and beautiful history of assisting students in this journey and sending them out into the world as beacons of hope, light, and support.  St. Alphonsus Parish School has been serving, teaching, and developing since its doors opened in 1907.  God has blessed the mission of this school.  He has blessed this parish and the community supporting the work done here.  As a result, this school has had a profound impact on generations of students and families.  We look forward to what God has in store as we continue this work.

I wrote the following prayer for morning announcements today and I wanted to share it with the community at large.  It is my prayer as we celebrate our history this year during Catholic Schools Week. I hope you will also claim it as your own.

Dear Heavenly Father,
You have blessed our school.  We feel you in our halls, in our classrooms, and throughout our campus.  It was your will to open our school in 1907 and it is your will that we still continue that work today.  You were with us as times changed and we ask that you continue to be with us as we move forward.  Protect our students; help them learn, grow, and share your love with others.  Protect our staff, our parents, and our parish so we can continue to serve you as a beacon of light in Ballard.
Amen

Blessings,
