CYO Track and Field for Grade 8

Calling all 8th Graders!
CYO is planning on one in-person track event this spring:  8th Grade pentathlon on May 23.   No former track experience required.  The events for the pentathlon include:

  • Shot Put
  • Long Jump
  • 100m
  • 400m
  • 800m

This would be a great chance to get together with other 8th graders!  No experience or skill required.  We hope to host voluntary training sessions on Monday and Wednesdays in April and May at Ingraham HS from 6-730pm.   Participants can also train independently.  Please let us know who is interested and whether interested in virtual or in-person training by filling out this survey. https://forms.gle/VWw9q1bMfJMBVcVt6

CYO Track and Field for Grades 4-7

CYO Track: CYO is holding a virtual track this year.  Runners can train independently and report times/distances for events by the end of each Saturday in May (only one set of times is required to make championships, but runners are welcome to submit times each week) and Championship results must be submitted by June 5.  Events will include the following:
4th/5th Grade Events

  • Softball Throw
  • Long Jump
  • 50m Race
  • 100m Race
  • 400m Race
  • Shuttle Relay (4 x 60m)

6th Grade Events

  • Choose 1 – Softball Throw or Shot Put
  • Long Jump
  • 100m
  • 400m
  • 800m
  • 4 x 100m Relay

7th/8th Grade Events

  • Shot Put
  • Long Jump
  • 100m
  • 400m
  • 800m
  • 4 x 100m Relay

Additionally, we are trying to assess numbers and whether we can hold in-person training sessions for small groups, but we will need to know how many runners are interested in doing in-person training and we will need at least two parent volunteers per grade.  Please let us know if your runner is interested and if you are interested in volunteering!  And if your runner is interested in participating only virtually that is great too, please fill out the following short survey ASAP.  https://forms.gle/VWw9q1bMfJMBVcVt6
