8th grade-only Pentathlon on May 19
Pizza party at the end of the season!

Like cross-country, practices are optional–we understand kids have many other commitments, so please send your kids when it works. Please don’t worry if you can attend any or all of the meets.  Also, we understand many kids do club sports outside of school, so if they can’t make any practices but will be running elsewhere, we would still love to have them for meets if they are interested, so let us know. CYO Sports Registration Link

We need your CYO photos for the website and the yearbook!  Please send any photos to [email protected] or to [email protected].

CYO Athletics

Track Registration is opening soon!

Does your child like to run?  Jump?  Throw things? Get to know kids in other grades?  Have fun?  Track season is starting soon!  Sign your 4th – 8th grader up for the St. Al/St. John track team.  We had a ton of fun last year with a record 85 kids participating, and a 2018 CYO championship team win.  We look forward to another year and any and all are welcome to participate regardless of experience or ability.

Practices start Monday, March 25 and continue through the end of May.  Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 – 8:00 PM at the Ingraham High School track.  This year we are also able to offer Friday practices, 6:30 – 7:30, for those who want to do a bit more running or get additional practice on their field events.  Meets will be on Saturdays, May 4, 11, 18, and June 1. There is also a very fun 8th grade-only Pentathlon on May 19 that we encourage all 8th graders to participate in—pizza party details will be forthcoming.

We’re welcoming back Mike Martinez as distance coach and Trevor Sevigny as sprinting coach, and are thrilled to have Dave White and Rachel Lambert on board to coach sprinting and Chris and Marie Holt back to continue their support with coaching distance.  If anyone else has a passion for track, we welcome any and all parent-helpers at practices.

Vex Robotics Club

Vex Robotics Club attends Seattle Prep League Finals

Saint Alphonsus School’s Vex Robotics Club wrapped up their competition season with a strong showing at Seattle Prep League Finals on February 27th. Our three teams finished in second, third and fifth places overall. Congratulations students! We are proud of your achievement!

The team has been working since September to build and improve a robot to meet this year’s challenge called “Next Level.”  You can learn more about the game here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJML1_JNCLI

We intend to run the club again next year for middle school students.  If your child is interested in joining, please contact St. Al’s parent Chris Legere at [email protected] and keep your eye out for notices in Angels’ Angle before the end of the year and at the start of next school year.

Beauty & the Beast, Jr.

Beauty & the Beast, Jr.

We’re looking for antlers! As part of our set design we’re looking for antlers. You know, the kind you find at a hunting lodge or cabin-in-the-woods. Nothing overly large, in fact smaller is better.

If you have something we can borrow, please contact Tricia Bentley at [email protected].

Costume Work Party

Do you love Theater?  Can you sew? Are you a bargain thrift store hunter?

Costume Work Party
Saturday, March 2
2-4 pm
School Auditorium

We’re looking for volunteers to help us with this year’s production of Beauty and the Beast, Jr. You do not need to have a child cast in the show to volunteer. This Saturday we are having a Costume Work Party where we will begin by sorting through the many bins of costumes we already possess and outlining what needs to be re-purposed, adapted, created, purchased or procured. We’re looking to assemble a team to hit thrift stores, hem here or there, and help organize. We promise a fun time, clear communication, and tasks based on volunteer time available. Please reach out to Victoria Long and let her know you want to be part of this year’s Costume Crew: [email protected].

If there are other ways you would like to help with the middle school musical, please contact Volunteer Coordinator, Tricia Bentley at [email protected].
